The youngster arguably made his breakthrough at the perfect time, with his debut coming at the tail end of the season

After only six years, the striker hasn’t lived up to his potential on the pitch or the promise he previously displayed.

The striker’s current season is his lowest since breaking through late in the 2017–17 campaign, when he was the son of former West Brom and Leicester City striker Kevin Campbell.

Campbell presently leads Stoke City in all competitions with two goals, but just one of those goals has come in the league.

Given that Campbell’s contract at the Bet365 Stadium is about to end this summer, most Stoke supporters would believe they won’t miss him if he decides to move to Scotland, where Rangers is reportedly interested in the left-footed attacker.

This particular opportunity was ideal for the young player because it gave him a chance to prove he was the striker who would lead Stoke back to the top division.

However, Campbell started the next season with little games played but still managed to score his first two goals for the team he grew up with. He then spent six months on loan with Shrewsbury Town in League One, where he managed to score just five goals but lead Salop to safety in the league.

Nathan Jones finally took a chance on the teenage striker in the summer of 2019, and Tyrese rewarded him by scoring nine goals in all competitions as Stoke, despite the COVID-19 disruption, was unable to muster a challenge to return to the Premier League.

Since this breakthrough though, Campbell hasn’t registered above 10 league goals in any of his seasons, and after spending some of the current campaign injured, he has perhaps left most fans of the Potters fairly disappointed, considering they once thought him to be the man to take them back up to the top flight.
