Greater Manchester Police have confirmed they have recovered a body from the water at Salford Quays. People living close to the scene in Salford Quays reported hearing sirens and a helicopter flying overhead in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services arrived on the scene following “concerns for a man in the water” at around 4.15am today (Sunday).
Following the emergency, Metrolink services were suspended between Pomona and Harbour City as the area was taped off.
Sadly, GMP confirmed this afternoon that a body of man had been recovered from the water.
A spokesperson for GMP said: “At around 4.15am this morning, officers received a report of a man in the water at Salford Quays.
“Emergency services quickly attended but sadly, the body of a man was later recovered from the water.
