Police in Salford are looking into a sex attack on a girl, and they have taken into custody a male.
On Sunday, July 28, at around four in the morning, police received allegations of an adolescent girl being sexually assaulted in the woods close to the Old River in Irlam.
On suspicion of rape, a 23-year-old male is being questioned.
“At 4am this morning, we received reports that a teenage girl had been raped in a woodland area near the River Irwell Old Course in Irlam,” a Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman stated.
“She has cops with specialised training supporting her. A 23-year-old male has been taken into custody on rape-related charges. He is still being questioned by police.”
