Done deal for scotland

According to Chris Sutton, Stuart Armstrong would make a fantastic summer addition to Celtic.

Following Southampton’s promotion to the English Premier League, the Scottish international was released, which has alerted other clubs to the possibility of obtaining the midfield player on a free transfer.

Matt O’Riley is still attracting interest, so Celtic may lose him in the upcoming months. Sutton believes the Scottish Premiership champions have never truly replaced Aaron Mooy, who shocked everyone by announcing his retirement at the age of 32 last year.

Armstrong would offer much-needed experience, even though he wouldn’t fit the Parkhead executives’ preferred growth strategy. Moreover, he would quickly acclimatise to life in the Scottish Premier League after hoarding skills with Celtic and Dundee United in his early career.

In his Daily Record column, Sutton stated, “Armstrong is a free agent and that could balance out some of the issues over wages.”

He, too, will have no shortage of offers this summer. He has performed admirably for Southampton, and I anticipate that a long line of elite Championship teams would be thrilled to have him join them.

Even though Armstrong is 32 years old, he still has a lot of life left in him and takes care of himself. He would be a great addition to Celtic, and he might be able to take Aaron Mooy’s spot from the previous season. As I’ve already stated, Matt O’Riley’s departure shouldn’t be assumed, but Celtic will still require an offensive midfielder.

“Talks with Paulo Bernardo are continuing, and it would be wise business if they could sign him from Benfica for a reduced fee. Regarding Armstrong, a ready-made player like him would be appealing, particularly if he were available for free, but would the team take a chance on him?
