Brewster appeared to have finally turned the corner after fighting his way back to fitness and playing a key role against Wolves last weekend.

In fact, Chris Wilder said that he was happy to see Brewster succeed and affirmed that there had been no other issues after Wolves.

But Brewster has now collapsed in training once more, according to Alan Nixon via his Patreon, and he may have to serve a lengthy term out again in what will be a devastating personal blow.

In the last stretch, it’s also a significant blow for United, since Wilder had hoped Brewster would be crucial.

Horrible for Rhian Brewster

We can talk all we want about what’s happening at Sheffield United’s training facility and the various hypotheses people have about why there are so many injuries. But with this one, you just have to spare a thought for poor little Rhian.

It is a cruel, cruel blow to have worked so hard to regain fitness only to have it ripped away by the same injury once more.

Brewster must be wondering what went wrong, and if this report is accurate, Sheffield United’s entire team will be devastated.

On and off the pitch, this season has been awful, and Brewster’s most recent injury pretty much says it all.

There appears to be a problem with United’s training initiatives. However, that is a debate for a different day.

For the time being, all we can do is hope Brewster gets better and resumes playing.
