Jayden Bogle from Sheffield United became Leeds United’s fourth summer addition on Saturday night. The four-year contract was hinted at by Leeds, who also made fun of Bogle’s former team.

Leeds has added 23-year-old Bogle, who was a bright spot in Sheffield United’s disappointing Premier League season in 2023–24, to address their lack of options on the right side of defence.

Bogle scored three goals in the league against Manchester City, Chelsea, and Manchester United despite the fact that The Blades were relegated. It is evident that he is an offensive player, and Leeds have signed him.

Even though he was approaching the last year of his Bramall Lane contract, Sheffield United first turned down two bids totaling £4 million but with different terms. Leeds did, however, ultimately agree to pay £5 million for Bogle.

a transfer that works for everyone. Even if it meant selling to a rival team in the league, the Blades had to chip in to keep Bogle from leaving on a free agent’s terms because he was not going to sign a new deal with Sheffield United.

Leeds might still use another right-back, but their right-back situation is resolved now that Connor Roberts, Archie Grey, Luke Ayling, Cody Drameh, and Jamie Shackleton have all left Elland Road this summer.

Bogle is theirs for £5 million, which may be less than what they would have paid if he had more time left on his contract. In an attempt to calm supporters, Sheffield United said on X that Leeds had paid a “significant” amount.

The number two shirt, which Ayling has worn over the years, has been assigned to the former Derby County player. Ayling rose to prominence as a modern-day club legend, and Bogle will have to live up to his achievements.

However, considering Daniel Farke’s tendency for his full-backs to attack and Leeds’ dominance in games, Leeds supporters are thrilled about the potential of Bogle. You would think that current Leeds team would be a good fit for the offensive hero.

Leeds also uploaded a “significant” remark in reaction to Sheffield United’s “significant” post. After the first announcement, they teased the Blades to reveal the number Bogle would be wearing.
