Wes Foderingham is expected to sign a free transfer with West Ham, marking their next acquisition.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that the 33-year-old goalie, who will start for the London club as their third choice, has already signed with the Hammers.

He will become West Ham’s second summer acquisition after Brazilian forward Luis Guilherme, when he inks a two-year deal at the London Stadium.

On June 20, Romano said that Foderingham’s physical is scheduled for the following week. Nathan Trott, who is expected to arrive in Copenhagen this weekend, will depart in preparation for his arrival.

Trott’s £1.5 million move to Copenhagen is almost complete, and it appears a deal has also been reached for him.

Smart signing from West Ham

Foderingham is a goalie with a wealth of expertise. His thirty Premier League games in the previous season demonstrate his dependability in the event of an injury problem.

The club’s first-choice custodian, Alphonse Areola, will be Julen Lopetegui’s primary dependability. The club’s backup custodian is the seasoned Lukasz Fabianski, but Foderingham is probably going to push him for a starting position.

Over his club career, Foderingham has made over 485 appearances for teams including Swindon Town, Rangers, and Sheffield United. He still has a few solid years left in him, and it’s a great business move to bring him on board at no cost.

Trott, who sorely needs to play frequently, was also able to leave West Ham for a respectable amount. Now, the Hammers should make a strong effort to acquire a new centre back, with Max Kilman being considered as a priority signing for the club
