Done deal for Sheffield Wednesday as the sign new attacker

Josh Windass appears to be staying at Sheffield Wednesday; according to The Star, an agreement has been reached to keep the attacker with the team.
The crucial Owls player was on the verge of signing a contract at the beginning of the month, but negotiations broke down, and it appeared as though he might end up leaving. Since then, the situation has grown into something of a mini-saga. The Star said earlier this weekend that the negotiations had made headway.

However, Danny Röhl’s side is pleased with the most recent development, and it is believed that he is now expected to commit his future to the team and prolong his stay beyond his current contract that expires
In an interview with this publication on Saturday, Röhl expressed his continued confidence that Windass would remain at S6, and the most recent information indicates that, barring any last-minute problems, the 30-year-old will be signing a contract at Hillsborough soon.

Windass will now have the opportunity to add to his 57 goals and assists in 135 appearances in Wednesday colors since joining from Wigan Athletic in 2020. He will only be the third player this side of the millennium to reach 50 goals for the club.

After Barry Bannan and Liam Palmer chose to remain at S6, the former Rangers player is expected to be the third player to sign a new deal with the team. Talks are still going on, so there’s still hope that DiShon Bernard and Dominic Iorfa will follow suit.
