Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed their fourth signing of a busy start to the summer transfer window.

Following his release from Hansa Rostock due to relegation from the German second division, Swedish attacking midfielder Svante Ingelsson signed as a free agent. The 26-year-old was a standout performer for Hansa throughout a challenging season, and prior to his signing on Wednesday, it was thought that two German clubs were interested in him.

The adaptable six-foot-three midfielder was coached by Owls icon Roland Nilsson during his time as a young international for Sweden. He has represented his own country, Germany, and Italy in Serie A football with Udinese. It is believed that Ingelsson completed the last details of his relocation on Thursday.

Ingelsson joins Max Lowe, Ben Hamer, and Yan Valery at S6, where they aim to improve on their Championship survival from the previous campaign. In the upcoming weeks, it is anticipated that a great deal of business will be conducted in a number of roles.
