Pol Valentin has admitted he is ‘not satisfied’ with Sheffield Wednesday’s draw with Stoke City yesterday.

Pol Valentin returned to the starting lineup yesterday after being sidelined since the 2-0 loss to Middlesbrough earlier this month.

The Spaniard started at right wing-back and worked hard to propel Wednesday forward as they attempted to break through Stoke’s defence.

Valentin had one shot, won all of his ground duels, and received four free kicks, but he was part of a frustrated Owls side.

Liam Palmer’s second-half opening was shortly cancelled out by Luke Cundle’s equaliser, and Wednesday were left with only a point at Hillsborough.
Valentin was praised for his ‘tireless effort’ as he ‘worked hard’ for the Owls, but he was unable to contribute to a crucial victory and was left disappointed.

The 27-year-old resorted to social media last night to address fans, writing: “We deserved more and are disappointed with the draw, but this team thinks it is achievable. “C’mon, SWFC.”

Many clubs in this circumstance would be tremendously concerned about the possibility of relegation, and many players would undoubtedly be thinking about it after such a result.

However, it is evident that Danny Rohl has instilled in this team a degree of confidence, drive, and positivism that has left them completely persuaded that it will not end until it does.

The Owls’ lack of skill in the final third has proven to be a stumbling block thus far, but there is no denying the players’ effort and devotion.

That might be the difference for Wednesday as well, since spirits are clearly much higher at Hillsborough than at many other Championship clubs.

This weekend’s trip to Ewood Park, however, could make or break their campaign, as they will be hoping Blackburn are complacent after expanding the gap between themselves and the bottom three to five points.
