In the Championship, Sheffield Wednesday has added the most players thus far this summer.

Ben Hamer, Max Lowe, Yan Valery, Svante Ingelsson, Jamal Lowe, Olaf Kobacki, and James Beadle have all been acquired by the Owls in recent weeks.

Danny Rohl is keen to guide the team to a top half finish in the upcoming season, thus the club was anticipated to make significant changes to the lineup that just missed relegation.

Sheffield Wednesday, who struggled mightily to score goals the previous season, has already added two new strikers, but they are not stopping there.

They are keen to strengthen their wide areas even if they have been associated with several strikers.

Winger Scott Wright of Rangers has already been linked to the Owls; the Scot is expected to leave Glasgow this summer.

Are Sheffield Wednesday set to sign Scott Wright?

In response to speculation about the Rangers’ “bright spark,” Rohl has finally spoken up, but he hasn’t revealed much.

The German remarked, according to the Daily Record, “I will not speak about names because it makes no sense” when addressing the media. This market moves quite quickly. I know how I want to play in the upcoming season, and we know what we want.

“We are very ambitious for the new season, so we know what we need to improve from last season and then it’s about finding the right pieces to make our squad stronger and stronger.”

Who’s place in the squad could be in trouble now?

Even though Rohl was extremely cautious to avoid giving anything away, it does seem as though Wednesday is getting closer to Wright.

As the new season approaches, the head coach will have other wingers to choose from, with Djeidi Gassama, Anthony Musaba, Callum Paterson, Marvin Johnson, Lowe, and Kobacki among his possible options out wide.

Gassama’s season of self-promotion will be crucial because his first season in England didn’t go as well as planned.

The Frenchman wants to make an impression right away or otherwise he can find himself rapidly demoted at Hillsborough.

Musaba finished the season with 13 goal contributions thanks to a strong finish, and it now appears very likely that he will play a significant part in Rohl’s first season as manager.
