Prior to this weekend, Leam Richardson, the manager of Rotherham United, stated that Cameron Humphreys and Sam Clucas are “tough and go.”
At the New York Stadium, Rotherham United will host Sheffield Wednesday, a team from South Yorkshire, to kick off their return to Championship competition.

Humphreys and Clucas will need to be evaluated late in the game against the Owls as they have both surfaced as doubts.

According to a Rotherham Advertiser story, Richardson stated: “They’ve been up and down this week.” Keep an eye out for them because they are erratic.

Humphreys, a defender, suffered an achilles injury last weekend when playing away at QPR. Tom Eaves, a striker, gave Rotherham the lead early in the London match, but the team ultimately lost 2-1.

He began his professional career at Manchester City and advanced via the Premier League winners’ academy. Before departing in 2019, he made two appearances for the first team when he was at the Etihad Stadium.

After that, the centre back left for overseas and worked for two years at Zulte Waregem in Belgium, spending a portion of that time on loan to Excelsior in Holland, before returning to England with Rotherham.

The Millers will be hopeful he can play against Sheffield Wednesday since he has been a vital player lately. Although Danny Rohl’s team is currently in the relegation zone, they have won their past two games straight against Bristol City and Millwall.

Richardson also needs to decide what to do about Clucas, who has an enlarged foot. After severing relations with Stoke City at the end of the previous season, the seasoned midfielder joined on a free transfer last year.

The midfielder, who represented Hull City against the Owls in the 2016 play-off final, has previously been a member of Mansfield Town, Chesterfield, and Swansea City.
