Sheffield Wednesday’s summer operations are going strong, and Hillsborough has added another new member in Jamal Lowe.
The 29-year-old completed a successful medical check at Middlewood Road over the weekend, and it has now been officially announced, as The Star reported on Saturday.

As the Owls get ready for another Championship season, Lowe joins Ben Hamer, Max Lowe, Yan Valery, and Svante Ingelsson as the fifth permanent addition to the team during Danny Röhl’s time in South Yorkshire.

His contract with AFC Bournemouth is ending, and he enters as a free agent. However, he has been out on loan for the last 18 months, playing for Swansea City and Queens Park Rangers. He played 35 times for the Swans in 2023–2024, recording 12 goals and 12 assists. He has made nearly 200 appearances in the second division.

“The Owls are delighted to confirm the permanent signing of Jamal Lowe from Premier League Bournemouth,” the team said in a statement. The 29-year-old forward strengthens the Owls’ offensive options and becomes Danny Röhl’s fifth acquisition of the summer transfer window.

The forward for Reggae Boyz will now play in S6 in preparation for the 2024–2025 season. Jamal, welcome to Wednesday!
