Man charged with firearms offences after fight with woman stabbed

A gun is said to have gone off during a brawl in Sheffield, leading to the charging of a man with firearms crimes.

Officers from South Yorkshire Police were dispatched to White Thorns View in the Batemoor region at 23:20 BST on Monday in response to allegations of a gunshot.

According to police, the 41-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed after a dispute with several guys, during which the pistol is suspected to have gone off.

A 39-year-old man was accused of intentionally hurting someone, possessing an offensive weapon, and having a firearm with the intent to endanger life.

He was scheduled to appear on Friday before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.

The woman’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, although she is still in the hospital.

According to authorities, no one is thought to have been hurt as a result of the gun going off.
