The family of the victim of a homicide in Sheffield has identified the victim as Hamza Mohammed.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service contacted police on Saturday, June 8 at 4:36 p.m. regarding allegations of a serious assault on Stainforth Road in Darnall, Sheffield.

When they arrived, Hamza, a 23-year-old, had a severe head injury.

Once at the hospital, he passed away on Monday, June 10, according to the police.

His family continue to be supported by officers.

In relation to the event, a 23-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of robbery, and a murder investigation has been initiated.

 

He was given police bail and freed while more investigation is conducted.

Additionally, a 25-year-old male is currently being held in custody after being apprehended on suspicion of aiding an offender.

Police say he was taken into custody on Thursday, June 13.

Thomas Woodward, detective chief inspector, stated: “Unfortunately, a young man’s life has been lost.

“We are still pleading with anyone who has information that could be useful to our inquiry to come forward. Were you there in the vicinity during the occurrence, and do you possess any potentially useful CCTV or dashcam footage? Do step forward, please.
