An air ambulance lands on a school playground as police establish a “significant presence at the scene throughout the day”.
Following a “serious incident” at a Sheffield property, two boys, ages 13 and 14, passed away, according to police.
Four additional children, ages 10, 3, and 7 months, were admitted to the hospital but have since been released.
The cause of death is unknown, and a post-mortem is scheduled for this Saturday. South Yorkshire Police stated that the victim’s family has been notified and is receiving support from specially trained officers. The man, 37, and the woman, 34, have been taken into custody on suspicion of murder; they are not seeking for any other individuals.
Officers were called to the property at about 7.30am.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Palmer stated, “We are working hard to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding this incident.”
