Woman arrested and pleads guilty to causing Sheffield man dangerous death

The killer driver will now be sentenced next month.

A Rotherham woman admitted killing a Sheffield cyclist during a court hearing held today.

Gillian Dungworth entered a guilty plea to the charge of causing death by dangerous driving during a Sheffield Crown Court hearing this morning (May 9, 2024).

It comes after a collision on Ringinglow Road at 5:39 p.m. on September 15, 2022, involving a car and a bicycle. Adrian Lane, 58, a cyclist from Greystones Road, passed away in a hospital later that day.

Tragedy occurred as Adrian was making his way back to his house in Greystones.

The father of two was going to move to Spain to live a new life with his girlfriend, Monica Bolado.

Dungworth, 40, of Marlowe Road, Herringthorpe, Rotherham, is now scheduled to be sentenced next month after the case was postponed.
