Woman was rushed to the hospital after being shot in Sheffield with police investigations ongoing

While the investigation is ongoing, a police scene is still in place.

Following a shooting in Sheffield, a woman was taken to the hospital and is currently being treated by police.

At approximately 11:20 p.m. on Monday, May 13, South Yorkshire Police received a call regarding gunfire in Sheffield’s Batemoor. The National Police Air Service and armed reaction officers were dispatched to the scene.

The 41-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital, but it appeared that she had suffered a knife wound. As police look into it, a scene is still in place on White Thorn View.

Police said: “We were contacted yesterday, Monday, May 13, at 11:20 p.m. regarding reports of a gunshot in Sheffield’s Batemoor area.

“A situation is currently in place on White Thorn View as officers carry out their duties. Officers who attended include our armed response officers and the National Police Air Service.

“A 41-year-old woman was taken to hospital with injuries consistent with a knife wound.”

As the investigation moves on, South Yorkshire Police are requesting that anyone with information get in touch with them by calling 101 and mentioning incident number 1209 of May 13, 2024.
