Pedestrian fighting for life after Mercedes crash on M5 overbridge

The injured pedestrian is in a critical condition in hospital

After being involved in an accident with a grey Mercedes E-class, a person is critically injured. The crash happened on an M5 overbridge close to Weston-super-Mare yesterday, Wednesday, August 14, according to Avon and Somerset Police.

At approximately 7.30 am, police were dispatched to the Sevier Road overbridge, which is close to the village of Loxton. A grey Mercedes and a pedestrian were involved in the collision.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police said their condition is currently described as critical.

The public is currently being asked for information about the crash by the investigating officials. Witnesses and anyone with pertinent dashcam footage are welcome to contact them.

The following statement was released by Avon and Somerset Police: “Drivers travelling along the M5 between junction 21 (Weston-super-Mare) and the Sedgemoor Services, as well as anyone travelling along the Sevier Road overbridge, are asked to get in contact with anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage.”
