Four casualties were treated by paramedics after a fire tore through a house. And investigators believe an e-bike battery was behind the southampton fire.
Fire engines from four stations alongside police and paramedics had descended where the fire had taken hold of the ground and first floor of the property.
southampton Fire and Rescue Service, who were called to the scene shut off the gas supply while electrical engineers had to be brought in.
A spokesperson said: “The loft space of the affected property and that of the adjoining house were checked for fire spread, with a high pressure fan used to clear light smoke-logging. The crews checked for hotspots and dampened the area down. Police and ambulance also attended.”
Paramedics treated four patients – with two being taken to hospital ‘as a precaution’.
The spokesperson added: “Following a fire investigation it is believed to be an e-bike battery that had been charging was the cause of the blaze.”
