Clement Praises £8m Man As ‘Quality’ Rangers Would Like To Sign

Rangers were connected to Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski in the January transfer window. Philippe Clement now praises the £8 million-rated attacker.

Bojan Miovski’s 20th goal of the season had a “look at what you could have won” feel as he beat Connor Goldson and flicked a finish past Jack Butland on the stroke of halftime as Rangers welcomed Aberdeen to Ibrox in Neil Warnock’s Scottish Premiership debut.

The Sun said that Rangers love the Dons talisman, but no trade was made in January.

On a night when Cyriel Dessers reverted to his Mick Beale-era form, snatching at chances in a wasteful display, Miovski’s dead-eyed ruthlessness at the other end of the pitch strengthened Warnock’s claims that Aberdeen have the best striker in Scottish football.

Bojan Miovski scores 20 against Rangers.
Clement stopped short. He criticized a man who has nearly doubled Dessers’ goal tally in 35 games for his violent nature.

Our game today was great. After the game, Clement said it was dominant. There are games in a season when the odds are against you. You dominate the first half and have chances to score more.

You have one moment—Miovski’s quality. He can score goals with little.”

Aberdeen estimate Miovski, who joined from MTK Budapest in the summer of 2022 for less than £600,000, at roughly £8 million, according to Sky Sports. Should he join Rangers or Celtic, he would be the most expensive Premiership player to leave.

Rangers survived the Miovski-inspired scare, but Todd Cantwell’s second-half winner ensured Warnock’s Scottish football debut defeat.

This is the 75-year-old’s first loss in his first game as coach since 1997.

After being promoted from the Championship in April 2016, Rangers have fought back to the top of Scottish football.

After playing their first top-flight league match against Hamilton Academical a few months later, the Ibrox giants have been on fire.

Some great transfers helped the team win the Scottish Premiership in 2021 and reach the Europa League Final in 2022.

Not everything was easy. Rangers took a few years to challenge Celtic’s dominance of Scottish football, largely due to a number of epic flop signings between 2016-2018.

We’ve included all Govan transfers since our Premiership promotion year. Relax and remember some bad signings mixed together with some ballers. Only first-team arrivals and departures are included.
