Eminem is a member of the Detroit Lions, while Taylor Swift is a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.

On Sunday, the 51-year-old rapper, whose actual name is Marshall Mathers, was in attendance at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco as the 49ers defeated the Lions 34-31, eroding a 17-point lead.

The San Francisco 49ers advanced to the Super Bowl by rallying from a 17-point halftime deficit to defeat the Detroit Lions 34-31 on Sunday. Brock Purdy threw for 267 yards and a touchdown.

Detroit was unable to advance to its inaugural Super Bowl appearance in franchise history.

Sunday marked Eminem’s response to the defeat.

“So incredibly proud of the Lions,” he wrote on “X,” which was previously Twitter. “Many thanks for a phenomenal season! We will return!”

Eminem, who is an ardent Detroit Lions devotee, spent the majority of his childhood in a suburb outside metropolitan Detroit.

On Sunday, he was attired in Lions apparel, which included a hat and T-shirt. An image of him appearing to give a group of 49ers supporters two middle fingers went viral during the game.

The NFC champions were tied at 14–5 with eight minutes remaining in the third quarter when the 49ers scored 17 points. They then pulled away in the fourth quarter to force a rematch with Kansas City, which they had previously defeated in the Super Bowl four years prior.

San Francisco mounted its fourth recovery from a 17-point deficit or greater in a conference championship game in history, thanks to Purdy’s clutch performances and the Lions’ (14-6) poor decision-making, which included two failed fourth downs in field-goal range.

The Lions’ elimination from the playoffs for the 58th consecutive year since the event’s inception occurred in one of the most tragic ways conceivable with their loss. It departs from both the franchise and the city that has consistently provided support, yearning for a championship that has eluded them since the inaugural season in 1957.
