OG Anunoby underwent right elbow surgery, and the New York Knicks say the starting forward will be out for at least three weeks.

The Knicks confirmed on Thursday that Anunoby had a loose bone fragment removed from his elbow during the treatment. They did not specify when it was performed, and coach Tom Thibodeau stated he had no idea.

They also stated that he would be assessed in three weeks.

Anunoby’s acquisition from Toronto propelled the Knicks to a 14-2 record in January, following his debut in the starting lineup on New Year’s Day. However, he has missed the last five games due to what the team initially described as right elbow irritation before modifying it to bone spur inflammation in their injury report for Thursday’s game against Dallas.

He has an average of 15.6 points in 14 games since joining the Raptors in exchange for RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley.
