Stephen Curry, the star of the Golden State Warriors, has made it clear that he will not be picking a winner for the Super Bowl because his favorite NFL club is not competing.
“No prediction,” Curry said. “Carolina is not in it. “I am just a fan of this one.”
Curry’s hometown team the Carolina Panthers will not play, but the city where he presently plays will. The San Francisco 49ers will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII.
In interviews with NBA.com and the NBA App, several notable players across the league predict who will win and give high accolades to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Kevin Durant, Phoenix Suns.
Prediction: 49ers.
“It’s hard to go against Patty Mahomes, but I got the Niners.”
Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers
Prediction: Chiefs.
“The Chiefs, but I just want to watch a good game.” I enjoy seeing others be excellent. So I wouldn’t mind seeing some of the 49ers’ players receive it, either.”
Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves
Prediction: Chiefs.
“Kansas City.” I believe Mahomes is approaching the Tom Brady level, where you can’t say he won’t do it. I usually favor teams that solve problems at the correct time. The 49ers always get it right. I want the Eagles to win, but if I had to select one – which is difficult – I’d say Mahomes.”
Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns.
Prediction: 49ers.
“This is going to be a tough one. It’s difficult to go against the experience and ring holders, but I’m going with the 49ers.”
Paul George, Los Angeles Clippers
Prediction: 49ers.
“Going with California.”
Donovan Mitchell, Cleveland Cavaliers.
Prediction: Chiefs.
“It’s difficult to gamble against Pat. “I will have to say Kansas City.”
Rudy Gobert, Minnesota Timberwolves.
Prediction: 49ers.
“San Francisco.” Simply because they lost a couple years ago Super Bowl LIV. I enjoy a cool, motivating story. I don’t watch the NFL, but it’s always entertaining to hear the men speak about it, and I always make my predictions.”
Dejounte Murray, Atlanta Hawks.
Prediction: Chiefs.
“The chiefs. I’m upset that the Niners beat my Seahawks.”
