According to rumors, Nick Pope is expected to recover from a shoulder injury ahead of schedule, while Miguel Almiron has been cleared to play against Aston Villa tonight.
The Times reveal, Pope is expected to return in six weeks, which means he might return in March, despite original reports that he would be out until April following surgery on his dislocated shoulder.
This is not only a significant boost for Eddie Howe, who could get his No. 1 back for the final stretch of the 2023/24 season, but it also increases his chances of making Gareth Southgate’s England selection for the European Championships this summer.
Miguel Almiron, according to The Mail’s Craig Hope, will rejoin first-team training on Monday and will be available for tonight’s 8.15pm kickoff at Villa Park.
Miggy missed Saturday’s FA Cup victory over Fulham due to illness and has been extensively connected with a move to Saudi Arabia, however it was claimed last night that Al-Shabab were unable to negotiate an agreement before their transfer deadline today.
Nick Pope is on course to return for Newcastle United by the middle of March, boosting his hopes of being in contention for a place in England’s European Championship squad
