Cam Newton’s collegiate and professional achievements will make him one of football’s most memorable 2010s players. However, the 34-year-old former MVP has not appeared in an NFL game since 2021.

Cam Newton is better than at least some of the league’s backups, even if he’s not a starting quarterback anymore. Many wonder why he’s not on a roster. However, if he returns, the Carolina Panthers great may only want to play for one team.

Former Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall asked Newton on GMFB Tuesday what three teams he would return to. His answer will surprise you.

“Not even three. It’s singular. Having a family. My family has always been important, and I won’t leave Atlanta. Newton: “If it’s not Atlanta, I won’t do it.”

Newton born in Atlanta raises his five children there. Having a sixth with girlfriend Jasmine Brown.

If Cam Newton were from a half-decade ago, he would fit in Atlanta with a solid offensive line and weapons like Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts. After firing Arthur Smith and reportedly courting Bill Belichick, the squad needs a franchise quarterback since Desmond Ridder is not it.

Cam Newton isn’t getting a guaranteed starting position yet. He last started a season with the 2020 New England Patriots, throwing 8 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 15 starts. That’s not enough, especially because his running ability may have diminished with age.

After returning to the Carolina Panthers midseason in 2021, he last played in the NFL. That season, Cam Newton started 0-5 with 4 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.

After the Panthers chose him first-overall in 2011, the 2010 Heisman Trophy and national championship winner at Auburn is 75-68-1 as a starter with 269 touchdowns and 123 interceptions.
