San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan will take the place of injured Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe on Team Jalen in the 2024 Panini Rising Stars.

The annual display of elite young talent at NBA All-Star will take place on Friday, February 16 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, and will be broadcast live on TNT and ESPN Radio in the United States at 9 p.m. ET.

Sochan will compete in Panini Rising Stars for the second consecutive season, following his debut as an NBA rookie last year. In his second season in the NBA, Sochan averages 11.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 29.5 minutes per game. He has featured in all 51 games for San Antonio, making 50 starts. Sochan, 6-8, has had a double-double in three of his previous seven games, including 31 points and 14 rebounds against the Trail Blazers on January 26.

Sharpe, a second-year NBA player, will not compete in Panini Rising Stars after the Trail Blazers revealed on Feb. 6 that he would have corrective surgery for a core muscle problem. NBA assistant coaches voted him into the Rising Stars player pool, and former 13-year NBA veteran Jalen Rose, Team Jalen’s honorary head coach, selected him in the Rising Stars draft.

The 2024 Panini Rising Stars will include chosen NBA rookies and sophomores, as well as NBA G League players, who will compete in a four-team mini-tournament with three games, each with a Final Target Score. More information on the tournament is available here.
