Paris Saint-Germain were connected with Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt during the January transfer window, but no real deal was completed. Nonetheless, the 24-year-old dismissed any thoughts of relocating to the French capital.

According to L’Équipe, de Ligt turned down the opportunity to join PSG, despite the fact that the Parisians made significant efforts to get the Dutch international. The Ligue 1 club attempted to sign a center-back for the entire transfer window.

After successfully signing Lucas Beraldo in early January, Les Parisiens was forced to look for another defender owing to Milan Skriniar’s injury, which could finish his season.

Various profiles were evaluated, including Leeds United’s Diego Llorente and Lille OSC’s Leny Yoro. Priority remains with the latter, and PSG is expected to renew negotiations in the summer.

Nonetheless, no agreement was reached on a central defender, forcing the French giants to stick with their present lineup for the rest of the 2023-24 season.
