Jaylen Brown, the Boston Celtics’ star, is well-known for his high-flying dunks during games. Nonetheless, Brown has never tested his abilities during All-Star weekend.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Boston star might be the first Celtic to compete in the Slam Dunk Contest in over 15 years.

“Jaylen Brown is seriously considering participating in the Slam Dunk Contest,” the report stated. “Brown has been mulling over the possibility for several weeks and appears to be very much in play.”

Despite Boston’s long franchise history, only four Celtics have ever competed in the marquee All-Star game. Brown is already on his way to Indianapolis for his third All-Star Game selection, so it’s possible he’ll be involved in another tournament as well.

The full roster of dunkers has yet to be announced, with Miami Heat rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. the only player to commit thus far. G-League sensation Mac McClung won it all last year and was invited back, but there is no assurance that he will play again at this time.

While Brown has no Dunk Contest experience, there’s little doubt that he can rock the rim. Just this season, he’s sent down a couple devastating slams that would win flawless marks across the board:
