The Detroit Pistons may deal Bojan Bogdanovic at the deadline. Could the Orlando Magic be his new destination?

“While the Magic are clearly a team on the rise, there’s a cap on how high they can climb without fixing their 24th-ranked offense,” a report from Bleacher Report states. “Their three-point shooting is poor, and they require more scoring support for Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. Bogdanović would meet both criteria without significantly impacting the club’s asset collection.

It’s a high price for the Magic, giving up a future first and effectively another in seldom-used Jett Howard, but it could be worthwhile.

Bogdanovic, who turns 35 in April, is averaging over 20 points per game for the Pistons this season and shoots more than 41% from deep. That would undoubtedly help Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner space the floor while also providing the Magic with a shooting threat from outside.

The Pistons are the league’s poorest team, so they should be open to any offers for Bogdanovic, even if they do not want to trade him. Bogdanovic’s contract is partially guaranteed for the 2024-25 season, but it becomes completely guaranteed if he remains on the roster at the end of the league year in June.

This means you’re getting two years of Bogdanovic, who brings some much-needed skills to the Magic. Is it worth the price listed above? That is a question for the Magic front management to address.

The NBA Trade Deadline is set for Thursday, 3 p.m. ET. But first, the Magic face the Pistons at Little Caesars Arena. Sunday’s tipoff is at 3 p.m. ET.
