According to General Manager Daniel Briere, the Philadelphia Flyers signed forward Owen Tippett to an eight-year, $49.6 million contract extension ($6.2 million AAV) starting in 2024-25.

Tippett (2/16/99) has 18-12=30 points in 46 games this season. Originally from Peterborough, Ontario, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound forward leads the Flyers in even-strength goals (16), shots on goal (167), game-winning goals (3), goals (2), and scoring (3). On Nov. 15, he scored his 100th NHL point against CAR and played his 200th NHL game against ANA on Oct. 28. The right-shot forward had a career-high four-game goal run, Nov. 10-18, equaled it three times, Oct. 24-30, Nov. 10-18, Dec. 19-28, and recorded a career-high 10 shots on Jan. 15 vs STL. In five NHL seasons with Florida and Philadelphia (2017-24), he has 119 career points (63-56=119), including 13 power-play goals and 10 game-winning goals in 238 games.

Tippett was acquired by the Flyers from the Florida Panthers on March 19, 2022, along with Claude Giroux, Connor Bunnaman, German Rubstov, and a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft for a third-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft (95th overall: Denver Barkey) and a first-round pick in 2024. Panthers picked him 10th overall in 2017 NHL Draft.
