Dragons accepted Super League clubs offered to St George forward

Exclusive: A new name from the NRL has been put on the desks of Super League clubs.

Super League teams are aware that NRL forward Jack de Belin is available. According to Rugby League Live, clubs have been approached about the 33-year-old’s possible transfer to the competition the following year.

Having played his whole first-grade career at St George Illawarra Dragons since his debut in 2011, De Belin, 33, is in the final year of his contract there. For the team, he has made 214 NRL appearances, nine of which have come this year. He has played as a prop as well as a loose forward, two positions that many teams are currently seeking. Whether any teams choose to pursue de Belin is still to be seen.

However, after his representatives informed clubs that he was open to offers prior to the 2025 season, he may possibly be headed for a stay in the Super League. It’s still in its infancy in the Australian market, and many agents have yet to extend offers to players for the Super League.
De Belin’s rugby league career has resumed effectively after he was sidelined for two years owing to criminal charges for which he was never found guilty. He started playing again in 2021, and he hasn’t stopped since.
Up until now, there has been little information about NRL players joining Super League. After signing with the Huddersfield Giants and Hull KR, respectively, Tom Burgess and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves are expected to arrive. More recently, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Daniel Tupou have both been linked to moves to the Catalans Dragons. Elliott Whitehead has also had conversations on a possible comeback to the sport.

According to Rugby League Live, Dane Gagai was also being watched, but it looks like he will be signing a new deal with the Newcastle Knights.
