Tyrell Fuimaono, who was on the St George Illawarra Dragons Top 30 roster the previous season, has moved on from the NRL.
Tyrell Fuimaono, brother of NSW Sky Blues and NRLW star Taliah Fuimaono, played seven seasons in the NRL, spending time with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Penrith Panthers, and Dragons. Tyrell finished with 66 first-grade games.
Fuimaono, a youngster from the storied St Marys Saints and former Australian Schoolboys representative, had his contract expire at the end of the previous season, and the Dragons did not extend it.
He has found a new home playing with the Thirroul Butchers, who compete in the Illawarra league, primarily in the second row or the centres.
His arrival to the team comes after the club ended a nine-year drought with their first Mojo Homes Illawarra Cup triumph last year. He is a handy back-rower.
He didn’t play in the NRL since 2022, despite having a contract with the Dragons through the end of the previous season. He is well known for an iconic hip-drop on Haze Dunster that happened in that same season.
Haze Dunster was suspended for five home and away games following the incident, and he was unable to play for the Parramatta Eels for the balance of the season.
