The GMP Bolton South spokesman stated: “Local Neighbourhood Officers and PC Rosbach have continued to patrol the area of Deane Road and St Helens Road due to ongoing parking issues in the bus lanes and on double yellows. This is a massive hazard for the public in those areas and will continue to be tackled.” Police have warned they will continue to crack down on irresponsible parking in Daubhill. In recent weeks, officers have been patrolling the area due to motorists parking on double yellow lines and bus lanes. Yesterday evening, they were out again and issued a strong warning to motorists who continue to break the rules.

If drivers are found parking in prohibited zones, they may be subject to fines.

Bolton Council is utilising Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at over a dozen spots throughout the borough to combat drivers who use bus lanes without permission.

According to the authorities, a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) will be issued to anyone found in violation of its policies while they are in effect.

The municipality presently has fourteen bus lanes, and police and traffic wardens have historically enforced them.
