A MAN was rushed to hospital following a collision between a car and cyclist in Leigh.
Yesterday afternoon (Thursday, July 18), at approximately 4:20 pm, emergency services were called to an incident on St Helens Road, near the Leigh fire station.
Police closed the road in both directions as they dealt with the collision, which involved a vehicle and a cyclist, according to reports. This resulted in traffic jams and bus detours.
The event resulted in a man being brought to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, as confirmed by the police.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “At around 4.20pm on Thursday, July 18, officers responded to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist on St Helen’s Road, Leigh.
“One man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”
