The under-fire Bayern coach seems unfazed before a pivotal Champions League match.

Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich has struggled recently to find his signature magic touch, but head coach Thomas Tuchel is unconcerned.

The youthful Bayern player, nicknamed to his teammates as ‘Bambi’, finally made an impression on the pitch on Friday against SC Freiburg. If not for a botched throw-in defence late in the game, the Bavarians would have won.

After the team’s loss to RB Leipzig the previous week, Tuchel saw yet another impressive performance from Musiala, whose form fluctuated throughout the course of Freiburg’s two uneven halves.

In a post-match interview with ESPN sideline reporter Archie Rhind-Tutt, Tuchel stated of Musiala, “Everything’s fine.” The reporter had claimed that the Bayern player had been inconsistent since the 2022 FIFA Men’s World Cup. “Having times when things are easier and maybe times when they are tough is normal for someone this age.”

The beleaguered and departing Bayern coach does not appear to be giving in to the strain of the current circumstances. Tuchel stated that his team has displayed a variety of personalities and that it is now up to him to decide which to concentrate on ahead of Bayern’s pivotal Champions League Round of 16 encounter against Lazio, where the side trails 0-1 on aggregate following the first leg.

Is the glass half full or half empty?

“We need to choose whether to concentrate on the first thirty minutes of our meeting or the final sixty minutes,” Tuchel went on. Which face do we have? To be honest, in far too many games this season, both of us. We’ll evaluate it, keep our composure, and motivate the players to play against Lazio.
