Stoke City injures, suspensions and return dates
The most recent information on the players from Stoke City’s treatment room before their Championship encounter against Norwich City

As Stoke City gets ready to play Norwich, Enda Stevens is looking to make his debut under Steven Schumacher.

The seasoned left-back hasn’t played since mid-December due to a hamstring strain and a calf injury, but he resumed full training on Thursday. After two injury-plagued seasons at Sheffield United, he signed a one-year contract as a free agent with Stoke last summer. He has only made 12 league starts thus far.

After missing time due to a thigh issue, Luke McNally returned to training on Thursday and was well enough to play in a modified starting lineup against Preston on Saturday. McNally also scored.

After receiving 10 yellow cards and serving a two-game suspension, Jordan Thompson returned to the team, but he was benched while Lynden Gooch, who seized the opportunity to establish himself as the starting left back in Thompson’s absence, played a superb man-of-the-match performance at left wing-back.

Wouter Burger picked up his 10th booking of the season at Deepdale and is now ruled out of the Norwich game and the Good Friday trip to Hull.

Ben Pearson will return from a one-match suspension for his red card at Leeds United and is a contender, along with Thompson and loanee Luke Cundle, to take Burger’s slot in central midfield.

Ryan Mmaee is hoping to return to full training this week following a knee injury but Junior Tchamadeu remains out until mid-April with an ankle problem.

There will be a chance for senior players who have not been featuring lately – such as Mmaee, Wesley, Daniel Johnson and Ciaran Clark – to get minutes for the under-21s on Friday away at Derby County.
