Clayton Wood’s news as Stoke City gets ready for their season’s last Championship encounter against Bristol City
This weekend’s season-ending game between Stoke City and Bristol City will not include Niall Ennis.
The January acquisition sustained a knee injury during Stoke’s 1-0 victory over Southampton last weekend, securing their place in the Championship. He will miss Saturday’s match.
Due to a groyne issue, Sead Haksabanovic is still sidelined and was unable to travel to the south shore on the previous occasion. It indicates that the forward, 24, who is on loan from Celtic, has participated in his last game for the team. In total, he has made 11 starts in the league and has one goal from eight substitute appearances.

Despite Lynden Gooch’s potential return to the bench due to a hamstring injury, Medhi Leris has recovered from illness and has been training this week. Over the past few days, he has been practicing at Clayton Wood with the entire group.
Ryan Mmaee (hamstring) and Ben Pearson (hamstring) are still in the treatment room and are not yet ready to go back.
This afternoon, Steven Schumacher stated: “Niall won’t be available. Perhaps as a result of a knee clash with a Southampton defender, he was a little stiff at the end of the game. Haks’ groyne issue still prevents him from being available.
“This week, Lynden Gooch trained. Ben Pearson won’t be available because he hasn’t trained with the group yet. We’ll decide on Lynden tomorrow as our numbers are strong.”
