On Sunday, April 21, Lee and Mary-Anne Roberts will put on their best show in an effort to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer, the top cancer charity in the UK serving children and youth.
Ten years have passed since her diagnosis, and while she is among the fortunate ones to have recovered, many other families and young people still require the assistance of organisations like Young Lives Vrs Cancer.
“The children who are fighting cancer can’t give up, and that is what motivates me to run. The London Marathon is the greatest marathon in the world and the ultimate challenge.
We wish to raise money to support Young Lives versus. Cancer in its mission to provide support to those in need since we know how devastating cancer can be to families. I would adore it if the neighbourhood supported and sponsored our 26.3-mile marathon goal.
In the UK, 12 more kids and teenagers will be devastated to learn they have cancer every day. For a youngster and their family, receiving a cancer diagnosis fills them with immense worry. Fear of medical care, but also of broken families, crippling financial concerns, being alone and without a support system.
The organisation provides families with free lodging close to the child’s hospital through Homes from Home, expert, empowering assistance from social workers, and grants to assist with the financial burden of cancer.
“We hope the community will support Lee and Mary-Anne’s fundraising efforts in their last push. We are eager to support Team Young Lives, Lee, and Mary-Anne all the way to the finish line.
