Police are searching for a man wearing a hood in relation to an attempted break-in that occurred in Sutton close to the town’s main hospital. Early on April 13, a break-in attempt was made on Bedford Road, close to Good Hope Hospital.

Shortly before four in the morning, a man was seen on a doorbell camera shining a torch into the living room as he attempted to open the front door of the property. After that, he is reported to have noticed the camera and left the area.

In relation to the incident, West Midlands Police has now released a CCTV image of a man that it would like to speak with. An unshaven man wearing a hooded coat with the hood up and a fastening that would close the hood across the front of the jacket open is depicted in the fuzzy image.

Although the photo isn’t the best, the police still hope it will help someone remember something or inspire them to submit more footage. A force spokesman asked, “Do you recognise this man? In the wake of a Sutton burglary attempt, we would like to speak with him.

“On April 13, just before four in the morning, a man was captured on camera using a doorbell to shine a torch through a living room window in Bedford Road. Next, the man made an attempt to unlock the front door before realising there were CCTV cameras and walking away.
