Emergency services were dispatched to the A240 on Kingston Road at the junction with Worcester Park Road shortly after midnight today (April 20), where a pedestrian had collided with a car.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the black BMW stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their investigation.

Surrey Police stated in a statement that road closures continue in place on Kingston Road southbound from the Tolworth roundabout junction on the A3 to Ruxley Lane and the Worcester Park Road junction.

There is already northbound access on Kingston Road, and automobiles may reach Worcester Park Lane via Cromwell Road and Old Malden Lane.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact Surrey Police and use the reference PR/SYP-20240420-0001 if they can help.

According to a statement posted on Surrey Police’s Epsom and Ewell Beat Facebook page, officers are now investigating an accident in Worcester Park that occurred in the early hours of this morning (20 April).

We were contacted shortly after midnight to report a collision between a black BMW vehicle and a pedestrian on the A240 Kingston Road at the intersection with Worcester Park Road.

The pedestrian has been transported to the hospital with critical injuries. Their nearest of kin have been notified.

The driver stopped at the scene and is assisting authorities with investigations.

Kingston Road southbound remains closed from the Tolworth roundabout intersection on the A3 to Ruxley Lane, as well as the junction with Worcester Park Road.

Northbound access is available on Kingston Road, and Cromwell Road and Old Malden Lane provide detour routes to Worcester Park Road.

We are asking anyone who observed the collision or has any other information, including dashcam footage, to come forward.
