RSPCA  animal rescue officer (ARO) Jade Guthrie was called to the garden to rescue the cat that got trapped.

The RSPCA is now reminding people to put netting away in their gardens after these instances have happened all over London with both wild and domestic animals needing to be rescued after being wrapped up in netting.

Jade said: “Netted fencing and netting used for gardening or in sport can be really dangerous for animals.

“We would ask anyone who uses netting for sports to take down and store every net following their match, and to securely store any outdated or abandoned netting in a receptacle.

It is recommended to replace any garden netting, including pond netting, with sturdy metal mesh.

On April 18, a fox cub was killed by being caught in Ealing.

Before the netting was finally removed, the animal welfare charity was summoned to the same spot two more times to save fox cubs.

All of the fox cubs who are still alive are being treated at South Essex Wildlife Hospital.

Jade Guthrie also saved two jays on April 10 from under bird netting at a Kensington private home.
