The rainy weather this week, according to Gavin Gunning, has affected Swindon Town’s plans for their Saturday trip to Stockport County.
Town has also been affected by the weather, as the water has made it difficult for them to train. Gunning described how he has been forced to overcome the challenges the weather has placed in his path.

“We haven’t been able to get on the grass today due to the terrible weather, and that is not what you need,” he stated.

“We will just need to do more analysis-type things heading into the weekend, but there are no excuses—certain guys can’t train on the astroturf, so that kind of kills your preparation.”

This week’s opponent, Stockport, is the league leader. Town’s acting head coach stated that, in spite of a recent string of defeats, County remains the standard in the league.
He stated: “I watched their previous three games back, and they very much won every one of them. They just had set plays, which they generally excel at stopping since all of their guys are so big.

But it’s terrible that occasionally in football, you get a header that goes half-inside your head and spins into someone’s feet; I don’t think they’ve gone soft.

They have amazing quality for this level everywhere and are a true good side.

They are the big players, as everyone knows, and success requires you to attempt and reach them.

The fact that they have the best players in the league and have invested the most in each player to get them to where they are doesn’t take a genius to figure out.

All of their strikers are excellent League Two players, if not better. Among their wide men are Nick Powell, who had a fantastic career at Manchester United, [Connor] Lemonheigh-Evans on the right, [Myles] Hippolyte on the right, [Will] Collar on the left, and [Antoni] Sarcevic, who was a standout player at Bolton.

The list is never-ending, but we have a great chance to go there and shock people.
