Michael Flynn’s over joy at crucial role after Swindon win Barrow and he said …*

At the SO Legal Stadium on Saturday, Swindon Town defeated Barrow AFC 2-0 on the road in an outstanding victory.

The Reds took the lead thanks to a goal from Williams Kokolo, and shortly before the half ended, Paul Glatzel increased the lead.

With some outstanding goalkeeping from Jack Bycroft in the Swindon goal, the Wiltshire team was able to secure all three points.

There were three changes made to the team that was defeated by Sutton United on Easter Monday: Jake Cain and George McEachran, two midfielders, were back in the starting lineup, along with Frazer Blake-Tracy.

The first ten minutes of the match did not start as Swindon would have liked, as Barrow twice struck the post, giving the visitors cause for concern.

With Glatzel beating his man and going one-on-one with Paul Farman in the Barrow goal, who produced a superb stop to deny the in-form Town attacker, Swindon had the better chance of the early opportunities.

Cole Stockton thought he had beaten the final line of defenders for Barrow AFC to take the lead, but the linesman would raise the flag for offside.

Following some outstanding Swindon defence, they would convert defence into attack. Kokolo’s strike curled beautifully into the upper left corner of the net after the ball was skillfully played down the left side to McEachran.

It wouldn’t take long for Swindon to double their advantage after Cain

But Town wasn’t done yet. Williams Kokolo held off his opponent brilliantly down the left side of the pitch and delivered a ball along the floor for Aaron Drinan, whose shot Farman superbly saved to keep Barrow in the game once again.

Emile Acquah attempted to exploit his pace to get behind the Swindon defence, giving Barrow a brief flash of life, but Bycroft’s fantastic save kept the dangerous striker out of the score.

Swindon, though, was still in control as Glatzel found a gap just inside the box and forced another one from Farman, who parried it and Aguiar cleared the subsequent cross.

The majority by far

Harry McKirdy, the crowd favourite, would get his final opportunity. Charlie Austin’s brilliant low cross to McKirdy was stopped by man of the match Farman in goal. McKirdy nearly made an immediate impact.
