Following the conclusion of his third term as Ross County’s administrator in February, Adams, 48, is unemployed. He has worked for Bradford City, Morecambe, and Plymouth Argyle south of the border.

Having guided Plymouth Argyle for over four years and propelled Morecambe to League One on a tight budget, he is an accomplished operator in the EFL.

After a terribly poor season, it will be hoped that Adams can lead Swindon Town back towards the right side of the League Two standings if he moves there. The new manager will need to satisfy the expectations of the fans, who will be waiting for improvement.
