Swindon Town take on the Gas this evening in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy at the County Ground.
The Robins enter the game off a 0-0 draw with Harrogate Town at home during their most recent League One encounter.
According to their official club website, Bristol Rovers manager Taylor gave his assessment of his forthcoming opponents and head coach Mark Kennedy in a pregame speech: “Mark Kennedy was at Lincoln City when I ran into him. I have been quite impressed with him thus far. He is a skilled football player who motivates his squad to play the game.
“Swindon has a sizable team. They always will be, and they always have been. As long as the weather is favourable and there isn’t a lot of wind, it’s a great area to play football. It’s a strong pitch that’s big We go there, and our fans can come watch us because it’s rather close by. To support two league victories with a performance and a result would be fantastic.
Swindon Town have had an underwhelming past few years and finished 19th in the fourth tier in the last campaign.
They turned to former Lincoln City man Kennedy over the summer and it has been a tough start to life in Wiltshire for him.
The Robins, who are two points above the drop zone and above of Morecambe, Accrington Stanley, and Carlisle United, are ranked 21st in the standings.
Swindon Town have only won once so far this term in 10 league encounters and are winless in their past four.
They will get an opportunity to showcase their young players and fringe players against Bristol Rovers in the cup.
