Swindon Town boss words on key player over display

The adolescent was substituted for Jeff King by Swindon Town in their match against the Whites.
McGregor, 18, attracted attention by helping the Robins draw 1-1 at Prenton Park.

As reported by the Swindon Advertiser, Kennedy showered him with praise following the game, saying, “We don’t talk about individuals after the game but we did tonight as a special mention, I thought he was excellent.” He was our man of the match, and in my opinion, the finest player on the pitch for both teams. For someone who is not six feet three, he is incredibly good in the air, has a high level of energy, and is swift and strong.

He is courageous, which is something I admire about him. However, I kept in the back of my mind that I didn’t want to put him in a position where we haven’t been winning games.

“I didn’t want to put him in a situation that could be harmful to his development because we have high expectations for him,” he continued. He had a tremendously grown-up performance tonight.

“It wasn’t something we didn’t expect or didn’t know where it came from because he has trained like that, so he can’t have done himself any harm.”

McGregor played in Swindon Town’s 1-0 loss to Port Vale last weekend, making his debut for the team.

He followed that up with a performance against Tranmere Rovers, and in the upcoming days, weeks, and months, he hopes to accrue more playing time.
Throughout his entire career to date, the prospect has been signed by the Robins and has advanced through their program.

Throughout the past few years, McGregor has consistently played for the Wiltshire team at various young levels.

Under former Lincoln City manager Kennedy, the midfielder has now made a name for himself and is drawing attention.

The club will be eager to nurture him as he is expected to have a great future in the game.
