After a pensioner was discovered comatose outside a house in Swindon, a murder investigation was tried and the man passed away in the hospital.

A 70-year-old man was found unconscious in a property on Overbrook, close to Eldene Drive, early on Friday, June 21, and police and forensic investigators blocked it off.

Since then, he passed away in a hospital, and his heirs have been notified. It is acknowledged that investigators are remaining flexible with the situation.

After being detained on suspicion of attempting murder, a guy in his 40s was given bail and allowed to leave.

On Friday, as police were at the location all day, someone wearing white protective gear and a mask was observed taking pictures inside the property.

Police provide an update while cordoning off Swindon property.

“At this trying time, our thoughts are with the gentleman’s relatives,” stated Detective Inspector Penny Andrews.

“We’re looking at the situation thoroughly and aren’t ruling out any possible scenarios. Anyone who was in the vicinity on Friday night and may have observed anything unusual needs to get in contact with us.

“We would also like to hear from any nearby homeowners who may have recordings from their doorbell cameras or from anyone who may have driven by and have dash cam footage.”
