A419 closed by police after two-vehicle crash at Swindon

On Monday, July 15, just before 9.20am, two cars collided, prompting police to race to the busy A-road.

Traffic was prohibited from using the route between the White Hart Roundabout and the South Marston turnoff, where the incident occurred.

While emergency personnel were in the area, drivers were advised to stay away.

“Please note that the A419 in Swindon is currently closed between the White Hart Roundabout and the Stratton junction due to a road traffic collision between two vehicles,” a police spokeswoman stated at the time.

When possible, drivers are requested to stay out of the area while emergency personnel respond.

Please look for alternate routes, and be prepared for delays in the vicinity.

“I appreciate your patience,”

Although traffic cameras and maps show that there are no lines and that traffic is moving freely in the vicinity, police have not yet confirmed whether the route has reopened.
