Another British series has been picked up by Tubi to be released in the US and Canada. The UK comic thriller series Dead Hot, starring Vivian Oparah of Rye Lane, will be aired on the Fox-owned streamer.
The series, which was written and created by Charlotte Coben, also features Peter Serafinowicz, Vivian Oparah, Bilal Hasna, and Penelope Wilton. The series will shortly launch on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland. Dead Hot was acquired by Tubi for North America at the same time as they also recently acquired Boarders for the United States and Canada.
The official synopsis of Dead Hot is as follows:
Set in modern-day Liverpool, the film centres on two twentysomething friends named Elliot (Hasna) and Jess (Oparah) who are connected by their shared sorrow over the death of Peter, Elliot’s and Jess’ twin brother’s first and only love. Five years have passed after Peter vanished under unknown circumstances, and the closest friends—still suffering from the trauma—turn to a hedonistic lifestyle of partying to numb their sorrow while holding on to their past.
